Akenji Nchang is a passionate advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), who is willing to work at the intersection of social impact, sustainability, and community development. With a strong commitment to advancing Agenda 2030, she focuses on Quality Education (SDG 4), No poverty (SDG1), Gender Equality (SDG 5), and Climate Action (SDG 13) through innovative initiatives and grassroots engagement, Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), Industry, innovation and infrastructure.
Akenji Nchang has collaborated with a local church in her country Cameroon. She has initiated and implemented a project in her community church that addresses change and promotes Sustainable Development. As a church leader in the executive board, she has led capacity-building projectS, and mobilized the church members in the community to become active stakeholders in achieving the church building project and other goals.
In recognition of her work, Akenji Nchang has been featured in awards as the best project supervisor and initiator of buying a plot and building a new church and continues to serve as a voice for equity, environmental justice, and sustainable innovation.
She believes that achieving the SDGs requires collective action, bold leadership, and a deep commitment to leaving no one behind
She has also applied the SDG 6 in her small local Village in Cameroon Africa by organising a community water project and SDG 7 by organising a campaign for electricity to be brought to her quarter of the village because there was not electricity.
