I am married to Bridget and we have three grown up children. My roots are in Stillorgan, Dublin.
We live in Drogheda with our 2 dogs and a very friendly cat called “Patch”. I retired early 8 years
ago.
I worked in IT for 33 years, the last 27 of which were in Cadburys. Since retiring I have volunteered
with Drogheda Town FC. I also volunteered for a time with the Boyne canal restoration team.
Following retirement I returned to college to complete a Postgrad in innovation, creativity and
business with a view to starting something up which would tie in with my interests around carbon
sequestration and biodiversity loss. I considered hazel nut farming and had my eye on some land
to purchase but that did not work out. I got more and more involved with Drogheda Town FC and I
saw opportunities there to reduce our carbon footprint and increase awareness around
biodiversity loss. With the support of local and government grants we managed to greatly reduce
our carbon footprint and increase awareness around biodiversity loss. I look forward to engaging
with the SDG advocate program and to mix with and learn from like minded people.
