Ziqi is a Project Officer at ECO-UNESCO, a Dublin-based environmental education and youth organisation celebrating its 40th anniversary. Since October 2023, she has worked on several initiatives at ECO-UNESCO, all have sustainable development perspectives incorporated: enhancing asylum seekers’ green-sector employability, supporting youth climate justice action, and delivering an accredited QQI Level 5 course in Peer Education for Sustainable Development.

With a finance background (bachelor’s degree and early career from Big Four auditing), she transitioned into International Development driven by a passion for meaningful change. Her experience includes evaluating community development projects for municipal governments, teaching economics at a secondary school while pioneering Project-Based Learning (PBL) through a youth environmental advocacy programme, and now advancing youth-focused Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Ziqi holds a heartfelt passion for Global Citizenship Education (GCE) and feels that Development Perspectives’ mission, actions, and network of experts really speak to her. She appreciates being part of the 2025 SDG Advocate Training programme and with this support looks forward to developing a project bridging GCE resources between Ireland and China.
