
Nelson Okpanachi Egbunu is a dedicated global development professional and a current Ireland Fellows Programme Scholar pursuing an MA in International Development at Maynooth University. With over seven years of experience in project management, facilitation, and system strengthening in the non-governmental and government sectors, Nelson has consistently advocated for human rights, educational equity, and social justice.
Nelson has served as the Program Director, Head of Partnership and Business Development, and Head of Programs for several NGOs in Nigeria. Nelson has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at expanding educational access, foundational literacy, and numeracy for underserved and out-of-school children. He is a certified Project DPro Foundation professional and a Certified Project Officer (CPO) who firmly believes in the power of narrative-driven storytelling to amplify community impact.
As an SDG Advocate, Nelson is eager to leverage his background in humanitarian logistics and grassroots campaigning to design transformative action projects. He is deeply committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities)—to help shape safer, healthier, and more equitable communities today for tomorrow.
