
Cebsile Sandra Mhlanga is an English language teacher at ICOT College who holds a CELTA certificate from Cambridge, an MA in English Language and Literature from UNICAF- Zambia, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a B.A. in Humanities from the University of Swaziland. As an avid educator, she has a heightened passion for mentoring her students to go beyond the normal acquisition of the language. She further assists them to apply their reading, listening and speaking skills to become abreast with current affairs and further engage in vigorous debates and public speaking to enhance their level of engagement and assertiveness. Additionally, this teacher has an edge for oratory as she has contributed poems and articles to various publications including Dubelong, Bia Zine in Ireland and the SNAT Eagle in Swaziland amongst others. Her writings are most personal philosophies fuelled by experiences, observations and imaginations from influences of the like of literature legends like Chinua Achebe, Chimamanda Adichi and William Shakespear. Being a unionist from an early age has also exposed one to interesting dynamics of advocating and defending quality education and human rights which provided invaluable insights to the need for actively identifying existing gaps to be bridged by influencing all stakeholders to play an active role in alignment with the rest of the SDGs.
