My name is Philip Doyle. I am 55 years old. I am originally from Carlow but I have lived with my wife Claire in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny for the past 30 years.  I have two grown up daughters, Sarah and Becky. Claire and I live in rural Kilkenny with our dog Coco and our cat Myrtle.

I trained as an architectural technician in Carlow and Belfast, after leaving full time education I worked various roles in London, Belfast, The Netherlands and Dublin. I came to Kilkenny in 1996 to work with Kilkenny Coco, this is when I met Claire. I had various work roles in the early noughties but in 2007 I found myself working for the conservation section of OPW architectural services as a Clerk of Works on the restoration of the Bishops Palace for the headquarters of The Heritage Council for nearly two years. This led to a further stint with the OPW as site architect on an extension to the EPA headquarters, where I ended up working for 12 years. These roles fostered an interest in our heritage, environment and conservation. In 2022 just after Covid I took on my current role as Buildings Officer with KCETB. This is a role I find varied and rewarding.
